YDA’s strike leaves 25 dead across Punjab

Ongoing strike of Young Doctors Association (YDA) in Punjab took 25 lives across the province.

On the other hand, the Punjab Health Department is trying to conceal the figure of death toll.

According to reports, the Health Department has directed all government-run hospitals not to issue death certificate.

Telephonic talks took place between YDA representatives and Health Secretary Nargis Sethi without any breakthrough.

Two sides failed to reach an understanding after which YDA announced its decision to continue the strike.

It said that emergency services and operation theaters will remain closed.

There is no end in sight as the YDA has vowed to continue their strike till all demands are met.

On the other hand, Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rashid has urged Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to hold direct talks with the protesting doctors
